I keep hearing horror stories about women getting pregnant 2 months after they give birth... how soon do I need BC pp?

If you are not trying to get pregnant, then I would say go on BC as soon as you can. Usually 6 weeks after you give birth is okay. If you are breastfeeding, you CAN still get pregnant. I hear this ALL the time. If you are breastfeeding, take the minipill (progestin-only birth control pill) which does not have estrogen so it won't affect your breast milk and give your baby estrogen it does not need at such a young age. It's just as effective except that it's more strict than the normal pill so you have to be more disciplined about it. You HAVE to take it at the exact same time everyday. I think you only get like a 1 or 2 hour grace period if you forget. Good luck!
