When is the best time to tell someone you're dating that you have kids? I don't want to seem dishonest by not saying it right up front but I also don't want it to be the first thing out of my mouth as though I'm looking for a new dad for them... I'm not, they have a dad already!

I struggle with this too! It feels like I need to put out this I Have Kids Disclaimer but it also comes across abrasive like I Hope You LOVE Kids!!! Not what I'm trying to say at all, just trying to be straight forward!

I always believe to them them upfront because, for me, if the guy doesn't like it, and stops talking to me then he's not the right one. I think that the right guy wont care!

When I was back in the dating scene after my marriage ended, I was always very upfront about having a child. For one, almost all my stories about ME include my son somehow so I really couldn't NOT talk about him.
If I wanted someone to like me, I wanted them to like me as a mom too because it's so much of what I am. How can you not say anything about that when introducing yourself? It's a part of who I am so I never hid it.
If a man automatically thinks you're looking for a father to your kids, he's probably not the right guy for you anyways!

The first date - I agree with everyone else if he runs then he wasn't the right guy for you anyway.
