Ok I may be over protective. My nine year old son, who is small for his age wants to to pee wee football this year. Am I overreacting, I am scared to death.

I think you should let him try out at least. Once you are there and watch the rules and the game you can make a better decision. Also, he will have the opportunity to know if he likes it.

My son is small to. He is 8.5 and weighs 46 pounds and is not quite 4 feet tall. I let him play.. he plays running back or slot back usually where it is OK to be small and you don't get hit as often. I say go for it... I'm sure the coach wants to win and won't be making him a lineman. :)
