Two people were killed and two boys wounded this morning in a shooting at Sparks Middle School in Nevada, according to NBC News.
While the shooter, who has not been identified, has been "neutralized," according to police, the two boys are in critical condition and being treated at Renown Regional Hospital for apparent gunshot wounds.
It's not clear whether the shooter was one of two killed in the incident.
"Students from the middle school and next door elementary school were evacuated to the nearby high school, and classes were canceled," the Associated Press reports.
Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval issued the following statement:
"I was deeply saddened to learn of the horrific shooting at Sparks Middle School this morning. My administration is receiving regular updates and the Nevada Highway Patrol is assisting at the scene," he said, also extending his thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the shooting.
