With the summer months upon us, homemade popsicles are great treats for the kids. But there’s nothing worse than watching your delicious frozen treat melt all over their clothes. A simple ingredient can make your ice pops a lot more durable, though. When you’re mixing up the juice and other ingredients, add a package of unflavored Jell-O and mix thoroughly. The popsicles will freeze as normal and taste the same, but it will take them much longer to get drippy. Gelatin is the ingredient used in commercial ice pops to slow melting. If you’re a vegetarian, then agar or carrageenan also work well.
