One of the youngest children with a reported near-death experience is German Paul Eicke, who fell into a frozen pond at just 3 years old and was pronounced clinically dead for three hours after his heat stopped beating. While he was unconscious, according to the Daily Mail, little Paul says he was floating in the sky and approached a giant gate. Before he could enter, his deceased grandmother Emmi turned him away, saying that his parents were waiting for him. Amazingly, doctors continued chest compressions and brought the tyke back to life. They say that he would have been brain-dead upon revival if not for the extreme cold temperatures of the lake and its effect on his brain and organs.
