What Are the Dangers of Dry Formula Left on Baby Bottles?

Dried formula left in a bottle may contain bacteria that could cause your baby to experience gas, tummy aches and diarrhea, says Dr. Jeffrey Lazarus, California-based board certified pediatrician. “A small amount of dried formula would probably not contain enough bacteria to significantly harm your baby, but it is better to be safe than sorry,” says Lazarus. As a precaution, Lazarus recommends you throw away any formula – dry or wet – left in a bottle after feeding your child.
