Can Eating Solid Foods Keep My Baby Awake at Night?

If your baby is eating solid foods and not having any negative reactions such as a rash or loose bowel movements, then the food is not the culprit that is keeping him awake at night, says Lori Strong, an Austin, Texas-based infant and child sleep consultant. It is more likely that he is overly tired or does not have well-established healthy sleep habits, says Strong. “Timing of sleep and how a baby is put down to sleep can be factors in what keeps a child awake in the middle of the night — not solid foods,” she says.
