My 1-Year-Old Won't Eat Solid Food

If your 1-year-old cries for a bottle of milk or formula and shoves away baby food, resist the urge to stop offering solid food, says Kristen Yarker, a Canada-based registered dietitian. By continually offering your baby solid foods beyond mealtimes you are providing her lots of opportunities to eat, explains Yarker, founder of Vitamin K Nutrition Consulting, through which she aims to transform "picky eaters into food-confident" children. "Offer solid foods approximately five times a day for babies who are 12 months old,” she advises. It also helps to sit with your baby as she eats and to eat the same foods.
