I crossed a big one off my bucket list this summer—marrying my baby daddy! We’d been engaged since our daughter was born, but as a busy new mom, it took me three years to plan our dream wedding. I think there were times our parents wished we’d just get married already, but I’m glad we didn’t rush it. We got hitched on a ranch in Malibu under a tree adorned with twinkly lights and lavender hydrangeas. From there, guests walked to a breezy, open tent for the reception. We danced our first dance as husband and wife to Otis Redding’s “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long,” which seemed appropriate after more than five years together. The rest of the night, we rocked out with The Spazmatics, an amazing '80s band. Truly, the best part was being able to share the big day with our 3-year-old daughter, who made a spectacular flower girl. She couldn’t quite stay awake until the cake cutting, so I snuck her a piece from the back of the cake before her bedtime. As you can imagine, ever since the wedding, “bride” has been a very popular dress-up game in our home.
