Actress Garcelle Beauvais Honored at 4th Annual Single Moms Awards

Single Moms Planet, a Los Angeles-based non-profit
organization created to assist struggling single mothers, presented the 4th
Annual Single Moms Awards to honor notable individuals who inspire,
provide an example or give support to single mothers through their work,
philanthropy or volunteerism.
The star-studded event took place at The Peninsula
Beverly Hills and was hosted by NBC 4 Los Angeles reporter Beverly White and TV
personality Rosie Rivera. Actress Garcelle Beauvais (“Grimm,” “The Jamie Foxx
Show”) was honored as Entertainer of the Year for successfully combining a
strong family life with a thriving career. Garcelle is the host of Fox’s “Hollywood
Today Live” and is also set to appear in “Spiderman: Homecoming” this summer.
“Garcelle is an exemplary artist, mother and philanthropist
who exemplifies the values of Single Moms Planet,” says Neferteri Plessy,
founder of Single Moms Planet.
Among this year’s presenters were Los Angeles Rams running
back Todd Gurley, actor Tom Williamson (“The Fosters”), TV producer Kerry Zane, founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills Anastasia Soare and fashion blogger
The event set out to raise awareness and funds that will
assist many single mothers facing poverty and other challenges and was attended
by high profile guests such as NFL stars DeSean Jackson and Rodger Saffold, as
well as actors Daphne Wayans, Carrie Stevens, Christy Buss, Alyssa
Reeves, and many others.
