In the new book, Fictitious Dishes: An Album of Literature's Most Memorable Meals, graphic designer Dinah Fried recreates memorable feasts from some of the greatest books of our time. From Alice in Wonderland to Oliver Twist and The Great Gatsby, Fried (who cooked, staged, and shot each meal) has managed to bring 50 iconic meals to life. "Part of my want as a maker in creating these was to put myself in the position of the characters who were eating these meals," Fried recently told NPR. "By shooting them from above, that was the closest I could come to a first-person perspective on the meal." Click through the gallery to see a few of our favorites.
