When I wrote about questioning whether kids’ birthday parties are worth the trouble, many people had opinions. So I asked them to tell me more about their approach. Many responded they had either never thrown parties or stopped doing so at a certain age. Some said they do parties, but nothing to the extent of what I had described in my post. However they chose to mark the occasion, the goal was the same — for their child to feel special and celebrated. And I learned there are many ways to make that happen.
