Jennifer Lopez is already a triple threat given that she is a singer, dancer and actor. Could she possibly be trying to add relationship coach to the mix? Probably not, but girlfriend dropped some serious wisdom for women who are dealing with unfaithful partners.
She was interviewed by Glamour UK for her steamy new film "The Boy Next Door," a psychological thriller in which she plays Claire Peterson, a married woman who does things a married woman shouldn't do with the boy next door, played by Ryan Guzman. During the interview, she was asked if she had any advice for women trying to get over a cheating partner and she answered, "I think it's about realizing it's not about you. When someone cheats on you, it's about them... about their shortcomings," said Lopez. "It makes it feel like it's about our shortcomings, like there was something wrong with us... but the truth is, that it's really their ego, and what they need to fill within themselves that drives them to do things like that. Not because you weren't enough."
Wow, if that isn't one of the best explanations of cheating, then I don't know what is.
"When someone cheats on you, it's about them… about their shortcomings," says Jennifer Lopez.
So how did JLo become so wise on the subject? In another interview, she told UK's Loaded Magazine, "I've been in relationships where there has been infidelity and you're left to feel like you did something wrong. Like there's something wrong with you, you're not enough, all of those feelings that we struggle with." And the hot mama shared that it's not just women who go through those feelings after being cheated on—men do too.
Jennifer Lopez is, of course, way too classy to name the infidels that cheated on her, but you know the chismosa in me is dying to know. Remember when she was dating Casper Smart and they broke up, there were all those rumors that he had cheated on her with two transgender women? (Not that it matters who he may have cheated with, since cheating is cheating.) Or qué onda with Marc Anthony? Could he be one of her cheating exes?
Quién sabe, but what we do know is that Jennifer Lopez knows what she speaks of when it comes to dealing with cheaters and she's right; it's not about the person who was cheated on, it's all about the cheater.
"You can always succumb to the depression and to the negative and become bitter, or you can become better," she told the magazine. But JLo shared she liked being better over being bitter. Take that, cheaters!
