Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge — aka Kate Middleton — mingled with TV royalty today when she visited the set of "Downton Abbey" at Ealing Studios in London.
The Kensington Palace Instagram account documented the visit and showed the Duchess hanging out with the fictional Crawley family of the series, including Lady Mary (played by Michelle Dockery), as well as the actors who play the family's "downstairs" staff, such as Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nichol), Daisy (Sophie McShera) and Mr. Carson (Jim Carter).
The event even had its own hashtag: #DuchessatDownton.
Apparently, the former Kate Middleton and husband William (aka the Duke of Cambridge) are big fans of the show, which chronicles the lives of the York-based family in the early 20th century, and she arrived while the cast was filming scenes from season six in the servants' quarters, according to Get West London.
She was greeted by the Julian Fellowes, the show's creator, and given a behind-the-scenes tour by the show's executive producer, Liz Trubridge, the site reported.
While it would have been fun to include the Duchess in one of the actual scenes for the show, it doesn't seem as if the mother of Prince George (and one on the way) will be making a cameo this time around.
