Ellen DeGeneres sat down with Matt Lauer on the set of "The Ellen Show" and discussed why having kids is most likely not in the cards for her and wife Portia de Rossi.
"I think I would [like to have kids], but that's not enough to have a kid," DeGeneres told "The Today Show" host.
She went on to say that she loves kids but that it's also a big commitment.
"It seems long term," she joked. "It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with."
DeGeneres is known for having lots of talented children on her show, including singers Sophia Grace and Rosie, and she wonders (jokingly, of course) if she would judge her own child against them.
"I'm going to compare (the child) to all these kids I've had on the show, who are so smart and so funny, and I'm like, 'You are nowhere near these kids I had on today.'"
So, it looks as if we'll have to enjoy the funny lady without her own little mini-me. Although, we're sure that would be amazing.
