When it comes to choosing between fashion or controversy, actress and mom of twins Zoe Saldana will apparently opt for the former.
Dolce & Gabbana founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana recently made headlines — and angered Elton John — by saying that they oppose gay adoptions and IVF treatments, using words like "synthetic" to describe kids born from fertility treatments.
While John, who has two kids with husband David Furnish, fired back at the Italian designers— who happen to be gay themselves — and asked people to boycott their apparel, Saldana decided that was one sequined gown too far.
"[T]hat would be the stupidest thing, if it affected my fashion choice," Saldana told E! News at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles this weekend.
"I'm certainly not going to stop wearing Dolce, and I'm certainly not going to be refuting when they are adopting 'synthetic' children, however they wanted to say it," she continued.
The designers have since released a statement, saying, "It was never our intention to judge other people's choices. We do believe in freedom and love."
"I am very well aware of the fact that there are other types of families and they are as legitimate as the one I've known," Dolce added.
