'Nature Cat' on PBS Kids Has Star-Studded Voice Lineup

Who knew PBS Kids had so much in common with "Saturday Night Live"?

The children's network announced today that one of its newest animated shows, "Nature Cat," would be getting a starry lineup, with at least four voice actors hailing from the popular sketch-comedy show also known as "SNL."

Taran Killam, whose wife Cobie Smulders ("How I Met Your Mother," "Avengers") recently gave birth to their second child, will be headlining the kids' show as Nature Cat himself.

Other "SNL" actors include Kate McKinnon, Bobby Moynihan and Kenan Thompson. Kate Micucci ("The Big Bang Theory") has also joined the cast.

"Nature Cat" follows Fred, a regular housecat that transforms into Nature Cat, a "backyard explorer extraordinaire." With his animal friends, Nature Cat sets off on action-packed adventures in an effort to inspire kids to get out and explore the world around them.

"This new series will help [kids] discover the wonders that are as close as their own backyard or local park," says Lesli Rotenberg, general manager of children's media at PBS.

The show, which is geared toward kids ages 3 to 8, will premiere on November 25.
