I love crafts that you can make with the kids because you always end up having a great time with them. Even better when those ideas are simple and free, and can be made with things you already have at home.
For example, you can give a new use to toilet paper rolls that usually end up in the trash. Throw a little color on those boring brown cardboard tubes, grab a ball (let's be real, if you have kids there's a decent sized ball somewhere around your house) and bring the bowling alley home for your little ones!
This is one of those DIYs that you've got to try; even the least-crafty mama can do it! If you've got kids old enough to paint, they could probably easily make their own homemade toilet paper roll bowling alley for themselves and their friends.
Paint your toilet paper rolls using non-toxic acrylic paint that is safe for the kids.
Let the paint dry for a few minutes.
Decorate the toilet paper rolls with some washi tape. We did that to make the red lines that you usually see on bowling pins. We used colorful washi tape because well, it looks so cute! You can skip this step or just paint a red line once the paint dries or by using a marker.
TIP: The best part, when the pins get broken or too dented to stand up anymore — and unfortunately, eventually someone will probably break a pin — all you have to do is make a new one, and you know you have the materials laying around the house!
