It's a girl for singer Sophie B. Hawkins!
The 50-year-old singer gave birth on July 7 to daughter Esther Ballantine Hawkins at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Campus, according to People magazine.
And did we mention she's 50!?
To take one word from her popular song , damn! Way to go, Sophie!
The "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover" singer, who has a 6-year-old son, Dashiell, was implanted with her own frozen embryo and announced earlier this year that she was pregnant with a girl.
"I found Dashiell really needs a sibling," Hawkins told People in February. "My son has one parent who's 50. I want him to have a family of young people too!"
Hawkins blogged about her experience for the magazine, and revealed that her mother had a more guarded attitude about the process.
"Even my mother thought I was a cockeyed optimist. 'I'll support you emotionally, but I don't think it's a good idea,' she cautioned," Hawkins wrote.
Hawkins has shared her journey on Twitter as well, with her latest post showing off her new baby girl (complete with a small umbilical cord nubbin).
"What a feet!" she writes. Very punny, Sophie! But, yes, what a feat indeed!
