After hearing about his baby-wearing mistake from all corners of the Internet, Ryan Reynolds has offered up his response—and it's totally relatable.
In case you haven't heard, Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively, posted a Father's Day photo on Instagram of him wearing baby daughter James in an infant carrier. Critics called out the image immediately because the 7-month-old was sitting too low on his chest with her feet hanging straight down instead of wrapped around his waist.
While Lively deleted some of the meaner comments, fans also joined in the social media conversation to defend the new parents. And their defenses echo what Reynolds told "Today" host Matt Lauer.
"The baby's not properly secured in the vessel that I'm wearing there," the "Self/less" star admitted to the morning-show host. "I'm a first-time dad, and that is not the first mistake I've made. I can guarantee you it won't be the last."
"I'd never used that particular carrier before," he added. "Every other time has been perfect."
We definitely hear you—and so did other parents.
"Oh goodness people! They are brand-new parents! Weren't we all at some point?! Heck, aren't we still?! Every child changes the game on us every three months and we have to learn new things!," writes Instagram user @renzanity.
