Matthew McConaughey Celebrates Wife Camila Alves' Big News

Matthew McConaughey cheered on wife Camila Alves as the model and mother of three became a U.S. citizen yesterday.

The 45-year-old "Interstellar" actor and the Brazilian Alves were joined in a U.S. courtroom by their kids — Levi, 7; Vida, 5; and Livingston, 2 — and snapped a photo after the ceremony.

"Congratulations Camila on getting your U.S. citizenship today," McConaughey tweeted yesterday afternoon.

Alves also tweeted out the same photo, writing, "Happy to say I now hold an American passport! I have so much respect and appreciation for this country. #newuscitizen"

The former host of reality TV show "Shear Genius" grew up in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and moved to Los Angeles when she was 15 years old, according to People magazine.

"The minute I got off the plane, I looked at my mother and said, 'I don't think I'm going back,'" Alves tells the magazine. "I didn't speak any English, and I didn't have any money. I left everything I knew."

While Alves, 33, worked at various jobs while pursuing modeling, she finally spotted herself on billboard in Times Square when she was 19.

The model met her future husband in 2006, People reports, and the couple got married in 2012 in Austin, Texas.

Congrats to Alves and her family!
