I was stunned by how much we missed by flying. One of the first times we drove, we stopped at Baltimore Harbor for lunch. While there, someone told us about an attraction called The National Great Blacks in Wax Museum. We decided to head over before getting back on the road, and I’m glad we did. The museum highlights the history of African Americans in this country, including a life-size display of a portion of a slave ship. It was a chance for my kids to really comprehend that horrific lesson in a way they never could have from a book.
