Whether you're traveling by plane, train or automobile, one thing parents can count on is the inevitable "I'm bored." To prevent the heavy sighs and fidgeting, Kaufman suggests creating a "boredom bag" for kids when they travel. "It's a plastic hanging travel cosmetics case that you can get at Wal-Mart or Target, and hang it from the seat back in front of where your child is sitting." Fill compartments with self-contained craft boxes that can hold pipe cleaners or water colors, Kaufman says.
