Jamie Foxx Gets Emotional About Daughter Being Miss Golden Globe

Jamie Foxx revealed just how proud he is of his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who was recently named Miss Golden Globe 2016 by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

"I'm over the moon," Jamie tells "Entertainment Tonight." "My daughter—people don't understand—but my daughter has always been cool."

The proud papa then told a story about picking up his daughter from school in a "fancy" car, but Corinne wouldn't get in it, calling her dad "corny" in the process. (Parents everywhere officially just bonded with Jamie, at least when it comes to your tween or teen kids not wanting to be in the same car as you.)

And while Corinne, who is a student at the University of Southern California, has been happy to accompany her dad to various red carpet events, the Golden Globe announcement was all about her.

"It's her night. It's her time," Jamie tells the site. "She's been around the business but not all the way in it. This is a perfect time now for her to be in it in the right way."

Jamie even had to take a moment to stop from tearing up.

"I feel proud about it and whatever she does I always support," he continues, "but I'm absolutely blown away that this is the —and I cry easy—but this is the moment."

The Golden Globe Awards will air on NBC on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at 8 p.m. ET.
