The former WWE wrestler gave it all up to become the governor of Minnesota, his home state, where he served from 1999 to 2003 as an Independent. Jesse Ventura first entered the Minnesota political scene in 1990 after he perceived that the local government was ineffective.
Ventura ran for governor in 1998 with an unusual platform, which he referred to as "Everyman" politics. When asked if he would ever run for president, he told Wrestling, Inc., "Two things would need to be met; I don't run to lose, I run to win. I would have to have ballot access in all 50 states, and I would need a guarantee that I would be allowed in the debates. If you're not allowed in the debates, you have no chance of winning."
Guess that rules him out for 2016.
