8 New Year's Resolutions I Wish My Kids Would Make

I'm not a new year's resolution-maker. I'm fine with other people making them, but they're just not my jam. However, I have come up with a list of resolutions that I would like my kids to make. Check 'em out!

That they react with joy to EVERY meal we make them.

No more eye-rolling, sighing and pushing away of the perfectly good home-cooked meals they get.

That they wash the dishes like it ain't no big thang.

Children, the longer you whine about what you have to do, the longer it's gonna take you to be done with it.

That they realize it's NEVER to late too get back on track.

Sure, they're gonna have meltdowns, but must we stretch out a tantrum for a mini-eternity? No; let's turn that frown upside down and get on with our day.

That they ask their dad for everything.

I mean, I do the laundry. It's only fair that he do everything else, right?

That they learn to do their own hair.

Or maybe I'll just buy them their own vacuum cleaner.

That they learn to say "si" right away when I ask them to do quehaceres.

I guess they really think that when I ask them to do chores they have the option of saying "no," when really, "yes" is the only answer I'll accept.

That they give me a break once in a while.

I mean, parenting is hard work. It's like I'm their butler who is on call 24/7. I just need a 15-minute break here and there.

That they never stop being excited to see me.

That look they get when they haven't seen you in a few hours is EVERYTHING!

What New Year's resolutions do you wish your kids would make?
