Jaime King: I Was Really, Really Scared of Potty Training

Let's just admit it: Potty training is hard. It's tough even for celebrity moms like Jaime King. The model and former "Hart of Dixie" actress is going through just that with 2-year-old son James Knight. And that's in addition to caring for her second son, 9-month-old Leo Thames.

Despite being bombarded by a barrage of advice on the subject, King admits to mom.me that the process hasn't been too taxing.

"I feel really blessed because it really hasn't been arduous or scary like I thought it was going to be. I was really, really scared," King tells us in the above video, which went live over Periscope. "People were like, 'Throw Cheerios in the potty, and do this and do this,' and I'm like 'Oh my God, what do I do? Do I just dump cereal in? How does it work?'"

King also got some help by partnering with Pull-Ups, which offers up a potty-training quiz and advice for parents on its website.

So does King have any harrowing potty-training stories to share?

"I don't want to say anything too embarrassing because it will live online for him," she says, and like any good mom, "I want to protect his dating rights in the future."

Speaking of the online world, the 37-year-old mother of two also reveals that she avoided blogs and comment sections when she was pregnant, because she found so much negativity on the internet.

"I did that one time and didn't do that ever again," she says. "It's crazy how much mommy bullying there is and how much shaming there is and guilt there is, and we're all just trying to do the best that we can."

In our video interview, King tells us more about her boys—and just how much James Knight loves being a big brother. She also reveals why she chose Taylor Swift to be godmother to her youngest.

"She is a sister," King says about Swift. "She has always been there for me."
