Emma Caulfield Is a New Mom!
Emma Caulfield, who stars as the Blind Witch on ABC TV series "Once Upon a Time," became a mom on July 10, giving birth to adorable daughter Knightley Lake Ford, with husband Mark Leslie Ford, in Los Angeles.
We spoke to the former "Buffy the Vampire" star over email—admittedly while she was still pregnant and, as she wrote, "too swollen and uncomfortable to work on anything except growing a person." She talked to us about her new animated show "Fantasy Hospital" and what she's looking forward to as a mom.

What is your favorite quality in a dad?
To quote Chris Rock, "A father who handles their business! ... Hey, Dad, thanks for knocking out this rent."
What did you think you'd be when you grew up?
I have no idea who or what I thought I'd be when I grew up. I always had my own way of doing things, so I suspect being in charge factored in to my grand plan. Hahaha.
What trait do you hope your kid inherits from you?
I'm a self-starter and I have a great deal of tenacity. Hopefully she'll get some of that.
What do you appreciate most in your friends?
What is your idea of misery?
My idea of misery is doing the same thing over and over. And over.
If you could switch lives with anyone, who would you switch with?
I wouldn't switch lives with anyone. Though it would nice to know what being Meryl Streep feels like for a day.

I think being able to be a parent first and a friend second, and to not be a hypocrite.
What is your favorite children's book?
Anything by Dr. Seuss.

Oh boy. In film, Ripley in "Aliens"; Atticus Fitch, in "To Kill a Mockingbird," film and literature. Oh, and Kimmy Schmidt ("The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"). She's my current spirit animal.
What food will you never make your kid eat?
The baby name that didn't make the final cut?
What talent do you wish you had?
To be able to play an instrument. Any instrument. I can't even play the harmonica. Pathetic.
What is your greatest wish for your child?
To always be healthy and to never know a pain so deep that she can't fully recover.
Who are your heroes in real life?
Steve Jobs. Meryl Streep. Any kid who finds inspiration in the least inspirational place and makes you take notice.

"You should." Like, get off me.
What is your idea of real happiness?
Real happiness for me is being OK with where and who you are, while also striving for "the better."

What is your favorite motto?
