Pumpkins are populating porches and costumes are being crafted—but have you given a Ghost-A-Gram yet?
This treat of a tradition has many names, some call it Boo-ing or giving a Pumpkin Present while others say The Phantom is responsible for spreading Halloween cheer. We call it giving Ghost-A-Grams, and made some festive printables so you can join the fun!
BOO-ING: A Backstory
Just as your Secret Santa would sneak a treat to you before Christmas, folks can give Ghost-A-Grams to friends, family and neighbors leading up to Halloween to get in a spooktacular spirit. With a fun little poem and a frightfully delightful design, everyone will be encouraged to keep the Ghost-A-Gram going. As Halloween draws nearer and more Ghost-A-Grams are given, everyone will get in the spirit and tout “We’ve Been BOO-ED!”
BOO for YOU: Give a Ghost-A-Gram
With a few minutes and a few sweets, you’ll start a Halloween trend in your neighborhood! Check out the printables below to let the fun begin - just click on your favorite to download a printable Ghost-A-Gram.
1. Print out two Ghost-A-Grams—one for each recipient.
2. Create two small treat bags or baskets and tape one Ghost-A-Gram to each.
3. Sneakily deliver the treats and Ghost-A-Grams to friends, family and neighbors who haven’t yet been “BOO-ED!”
4. Watch with delight as the Ghost-A-Grams are received and taped to the doors of two neighbors, then four, then six, then more!
The real fun begins as more people get into it, and continue to give Ghost-A-Grams until every house on the block has a “We’ve Been BOO-ED” sign. With Halloween just days away, now is a great time to give Ghost-A-Grams and BOO your friends, family and neighbors.
