No one does their weekly grocery shopping expecting the food they’re buying to end up in the trash because it’s gone bad or is past the expiration date. However, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council, the reality is that typical American families discard 40 percent of their food supply every year, and the average family of four ends up throwing away the equivalent of up to $2,275 annually in food. ¡Que locura!
So what can we do to change? ¡Muy fácil! With just a little bit of planning and work we can all cut back on needless waste and make our money and food go further.
