Beet, Pear and Basil Juice

Photograph by Ericka Sanchez

If you’re looking for an easy-to-prepare, vitamin-rich morning juice, try this beet, pear and basil combination. Beets are quite popular in juicing, as they’re a great natural sweetener packed with vitamins A, B, C and rich in antioxidant carotenoids such as beta-carotene. The root also helps promote healthy skin and hair growth.

Pears are rich in flavonoids which have been associated in the reduction of type 2 diabetes. This juice calls for peeled pears but you can always juice with skin on as keeping the pear’s skin increases antioxidant content.

Basil leaves make this tasty juice very fragrant and give it its source of magnesium which improves blood flow and promotes heart health.
