3 Party Punches for the Holidays

Christmas is the time to break away from the usual beer and wine at the bar scenario. Yes, it should be served. No, it should not be your only offering. This is the season to step it up and even break out your grandmother’s punch bowl if you have it. If not, head to your local consignment shop and buy one! There are so many good party punches to be made this time of year and today I am giving you four. One is sweet, one is eggnog, one is bubbly, and one is for the kids!

RECIPE: Classic Eggnog

  • 6 large eggs, separated
  • ¾ cup superfine sugar
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups light cream
  • ½ cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup dark rum

  1. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks until pale. Then slowly beat in the sugar until it is dissolved. Then beat in the milk, cream, bourbon, and rum. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 6 hours, or up to a day.
  2. Right before serving beat the egg whites until stiff. Fold it into the eggnog and serve.
