This video, which shows the makeover of a homeless veteran from Michigan, was published on November 6, 2013. Within about a week, the public service announcement, created by community event planner Rob Bliss in honor of Veteran’s Day and to raise funds for Degage Ministries, had over 13.5 million YouTube views and collected $24,755 of the total $30,000 goal. The video not only taught the audience, but also Jim Wolf, the Army vet featured, that there was a respectable man under all that scruff. Wolf has since made major strides to turn his life around; he’s currently scheduled to have his own housing and is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
