Life’s a barrel of laughs for comedian Sherri Shepherd, but "The View" hostess jokes that she's had her fair share of struggles—including those with infertility. Getting pregnant with son Jeffrey in 2004 meant “shots in my butt, shots in my stomach, a little surgery,” Shepherd told People. “We used our American Express card to pay for the entire thing. Not only did we get a baby, we got double mileage points!” Shepherd miscarried one baby, but Jeffrey was born in 2005, severely premature, weighing one 1 pound, 10 ounces—and Shepherd was separating from her husband Jeff Tarpley at the time. “My son was fighting for his life. I remember saying, ‘I will never laugh again.’ [But] I held him, and my heart melted.” In 2010, when Shepherd wed TV writer Lamar Sally, Jeffrey, now 8, walked her down the aisle.
