He may only be 10 years old, but Will Lourcey knows that little people can do big things. At 8, after seeing a man holding up a sign asking for a meal, he founded the Fort Worth FROGS—short for “Friends Reaching Our Goals”—an organization that raises funds to create meals for the needy in Texas.
With a troop of volunteers, Will has organized food drives, lemonade stands, yard sales and other relief efforts. In two years, the FROGS have provided more than 30,000 meals at the Tarrant Area Food Bank. “Community service is a fun and easy way to give back to your community,” Will said. “All you have to do is find a need in your community, gather up some friends, set a goal and take action! No matter how tall or small you are YOU can make a BIG difference!”
