Many people aren’t as vocal as Davion Navar Henry Only when they go to church. The 15-year-old recently went to pray—although not necessarily to God. He went to ask the parishioners to help him find a family. The boy was born in prison and raised in foster care, living most recently in a home with 12 other kids. After finding out that his birth mother died earlier this year, he decided to try to get himself adopted. “I know God hasn’t given up on me,” he told the congregation from the pulpit. “So I’m not giving up either.” He described his perfect family to Barbara Walters as “Anyone who would love me.” In the weeks that followed, more than 10,000 inquiries were made from families asking about adopting him and adoption specialists will present him with 10 options so he can have a say in where and to whom he eventually goes—which should be by Christmas.
