Keep your diet packed with healthy foods. Sure, you can splurge on the occasional cheeseburger or ice cream cone, but try to limit your intake of fatty foods and sweets. Foods with lots of protein, B vitamins, iron, vitamin E, essential fatty acids and sulfur will help to promote hair growth. So pig out on dark green leafy veggies, nuts, fish, whole grain cereals, eggs, beans, yogurt and nuts, but watch it with caffeine, carbonated drinks, fats and sugars.
Head to the salon every two to three months to get your ends trimmed. It may seem like you're defeating the purpose here, since you want your hair to grow, but getting rid of those dry, split ends will keep your hair healthy and let it grow faster.
Get moving. Regular exercise will increase blood flow to your scalp, which helps the hair to grow faster. Plus, your whole body will be healthier and feel great. Limit how often you use heated styling products. Yes, you want those perfect curls for your big date night out -- or you want your hair silky-straight for a meeting at work -- but using these tools damages and dries out your hair, preventing it from growing.
Grab an egg and some olive oil. Make your own weekly hair mask. Whip up an egg yolk and 3 tbsp. of olive oil. Massage it into your scalp, leave it on for 15 minutes, then shampoo your hair as usual.
