Remove the insole from each shoe after you go for a walk. This will help to dry the insole, as well as the rest of the shoe, without risking the development of a foul odor inside the shoe.
Apply Dial antibacterial soap to clean the outside of the shoe. This soap does not contain harsh chemicals that can damage the shoe and has gentle cleansers that will remove stains from the shoe's surface.
Use a brush to clean the shoes after you have applied the soap. Use a cellulose sponge to clean the inside of the shoe.
Remove the laces and submerge the shoes in a pot of warm water if they need a major cleaning. Add soap to the water and allow the shoes to soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
Move the shoes to a pot filled with cool water and rinse off the remaining soap.
Place paper towels inside each shoe, and place the shoes in front of a fan or air conditioner to ensure that they dry properly.
