Squirt hairspray directly onto the ink stain as quickly as possible. Hairspray contains a low alcohol content that is safe for use on wet clothing yet strong enough to remove the ink.
Let the hairspray sit for 30 seconds, then blot with a paper towel. Use a fresh piece of paper towel with each blot so the lifted ink does not transfer to other parts of the wet clothing.
Spray a laundry stain treatment onto the clothing, and let it sit for 30 minutes to one hour.
Place the clothing in the washing machine along with your normal laundry detergent. Turn the machine settings to a cold water wash. Do not use hot water, as the heat will permanently set the stain into the clothing.
Remove the clothing from the washing machine when the cycle is complete, and examine the stain.
Air dry or, if the stain is completely removed, place the clothing in the dryer. If any stain remains, repeat the laundry stain treatment and wash again. Do not dry the garment with heat until the entire stain is removed.
