Maple Cranberry Sauce

Growing up, we always had cranberry sauce sliced straight from a can. Staying true to my picky kid roots, I never did try that sauce. Now that I help cook for Thanksgiving, I’m always sure to make this version for the family to enjoy! The maple syrup is a bit unexpected and adds a nice flavor to the tart sauce. This is nearly as easy as opening a can, but way more impressive!

RECIPE: Maple Cranberry Sauce

Serves 8

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 22 minutes

● 12 ounces fresh cranberries

● 1 cup orange juice

● 1/2 cup pure maple syrup

● 1/2 cup sugar

● 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a medium sauce pan and stir to combine.
  2. Heat over medium heat until the mixture reaches a rolling boil, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat to low and continue cooking until the berries have burst and the syrup has thickened a bit, about 10 more minutes.
  4. Remove mixture from heat and allow to cool. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
