How to Care for Teak Garden Furniture

Step 1

Rinse your teak garden furniture with a garden hose.

Step 2

Wipe the furniture with a sponge dampened with warm water. This will loosen any buildup of grime and dirt.

Step 3

Drizzle dish soap over the damp sponge, and continue wiping the furniture. The soap should cut through even the heaviest buildup of dirt and grime.

Step 4

Hose the soap off the furniture and allow it to air dry.

Step 5

Sand the teak with fine-grain sandpaper, following the grain of the wood, if you notice splintering or spots that are uneven. Wipe off the furniture with a clean rag.

Step 6

Saturate a cleaning rag with teak oil, then wipe over the furniture by following the grain of the wood. Allow the furniture to air dry.
