Happy Hour: Smoky Mountain Apple

If you've never had moonshine, prepare to get acquainted. It's an unaged corn whiskey with a rich history. Our new favorite brand is Ole Smoky, and they use an authentic East Tennessee recipe. It's jarred and shipped directly from the company’s famed distilleries. Even though their recipe has been passed down for generations, they've been known to bend the rules from time to time. Enter: their new Apple Pie Moonshine flavor. This week's Happy Hour pick makes moonshine the star, and is the ideal pre-Thanksgiving cocktail.

RECIPE: Smoky Mountain Apple

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Ole Smoky® Original Moonshine
  • 3 oz parts Ole Smoky® Apple Pie Moonshine
  • Splash of cranberry juice
  • Apple slices for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except the apple slices in a cocktail shaker full of ice.
  2. Shake vigorously until chilled.
  3. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with apple slices.
