Makeup Tutorial: Everyday Work

.) Begin by applying a soft plum color on the eyelid from the lash line, softly blending it up into your crease.

.) Next, apply a waterproof eyeliner above your lash line. (Don't worry about the line being precise). With a small firm smudge brush, gently smudge the eyeliner to create a soft smoky effect. "We only did this on the top because she is wearing glasses and we didn't want to close her eye off. You can definitely line on your lower lashes as well!" says makeup artist Marissa Lafayette.

.) Using a flat synthetic brush and a cream, gel or cake eyeliner, line your inner lash line. Gently press the eyeliner between the lashes helps give the illusion of a fuller thicker lash line. Try Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner or Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner.

.) Warm up your complexion by applying a rosy cream blush to your cheeks.

.) Because we kept the look more simple and polished, pump up the color on the lips by applying a long wear creamy plum color. There are so many great long wear lipsticks on the market now, spend a little time to find your favorite and then simply apply and forget it for hours. Marissa suggests CoverGirl Outlast in Wine to Five or Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Lydia.
