You know how some detox smoothies feel like punishment? This one doesn’t. It’s refreshing, easy to drink, and doesn’t have a weird aftertaste that will make you want to gag. Yay!
My detox smoothie is packed full of ingredients that increase alkalinity, act as diuretics, improve immunity and provide digestive support. Because this recipe requires small amounts of lots of different fresh ingredients, I like to grocery shop once for everything then make a fresh smoothie every day of the week. Remember that for detoxing to be effective, it’s important to use organic produce and ingredients whenever possible.
RECIPE: Detox Smoothie
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
cup almond milk or coconut milk
apple (cored and chopped)
cup celery, chopped (about 1/3 of a stalk)
large strawberries (chopped)
handful flat-leaf parsley (enough to fit in your palm)
nub fresh ginger (grated)
tsp spirulina powder
all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth then serve
immediately. Makes one 16-ounce
