Easy DIY Fabric Bracelets

Nancy Soriano's newest book, "The Jewelry Recipe Book," breaks down super-chic accessories into easy-to-digest instructions. Here she shares her recipe for making these one-of-a-kind fabric bracelets.

Fabric Recipe 1: Scrap Bracelets

  1. Scrap fabric
  2. Bangle blanks in several widths, 1 blank per bracelet

  1. Fabric scissors
  2. Hot glue gun and glue sticks

1. Cut or tear fabric strips measuring 1/4 inch by 6 inches; you'll need one or two strips per bracelet. Place a dot of glue on the insides of the bangle blank and lay the fabric strip on top, anchoring it before you start to wrap. Let the glue set for 15 minutes.

2. Begin wrapping the fabric strip around the bracelet. If you need an additional fabric strip, stop wrapping when you are close to the end of the strip. Glue down the end to the bangle (preferably on the underside). Begin a new fabric strip, glue it down over the last strip, and continue to wrap. Use different fabric strips if desired.

3. When you have completely wrapped the bangle, place a dot of glue on the inside, pull the working strip taut, and lay it over the glue, pressing down. Let dry and trim the excess fabric.
