The ability to share photos with the world via social media is something we can all appreciate. Unfortunately, it has also encouraged many people — kids and parents alike — to put themselves in danger in an attempt to take the perfect picture. For some, the consequences have been grave.
In fact, according to Mashable, more people have died in 2015 from taking selfies than from shark attacks.
Last year, 17-year-old Xenia Ignatyeva was trying to take a selfie on a railway bridge in St. Petersburg, Russia, when she slipped and fell 30 feet. She managed to grab a wire, but it was live and Ignatyeva was electrocuted.
