There is nothing cozier than embracing a chilly afternoon with a good book, a soft and warm throw, and a creamy mug of cocoa. Even better, if someone special is planted right next to you, doing the same. It is on one of those rare, quiet, completely fulfilling afternoons that I sat on my sofa surveying the scene in my living room, imagining the festive month to come. I wanted to translate this cozy feeling into decor to welcome in friends and family this holiday season — nothing too sparkly or grand — but subtle, inviting pieces to recognize the winter season and all that it brings. In colors and the creamiest white, an icy wash of the palest powder blue and an abundance of brass and candlelight, these select pieces are my December inspiration.
