What inspired you to start your business?
My sister and I had always talked about doing something together and our dad is an entrepreneur so it's in our blood! Our stylish mom has always inspired us so we knew we had to do something together in fashion.
What do you most love about it?
Working with my family. My sister and I are the co-founders and partners in every way but our parents also help us in the business. I also love connecting with our customers and seeing them wear items that we designed.
What's the hardest thing about running your own business and being a mom?
Work/life balance and time management. It's in my nature to work all the time so I often get caught up in emails and all the projects that I'm working on. When I'm with my daughter I like to have 100 percent attention on her but sometimes it's hard when I can hear my phone buzzing away. I now put my phone and laptop away so that I can't be distracted when I'm with her. Most nights I end up working late into the night after she's gone to bed but I don't mind it at all. I also travel a lot for our business and it's hard to be away from her but I'm happy that she gets to spend quality time with her grandparents when I'm away.
My daughter is only 2 so she doesn't really know yet. But when she comes into my home office she loves playing with all of our accessories and trying on the necklaces and bracelets. I'm hoping as she grows older she will appreciate the fact that she will have an endless supply of accessories and clothes that she can play with!
Name three other mompreneurs you admire.
My sister, Jennifer Worman. I couldn't do any of this without her. My friend Joyce Poon, who owns Noir Lash Lounge, and another friend Jen Tadema who is just starting to get her fitness business up and running!
