The spicy punch of rye whiskey and juicy sweet cherries combine make an elegant—and strong!—summer cocktail that will be difficult to put down. One thing: While the rye whiskey really makes this pop, if you don't have it on hand, feel free to substitute bourbon.
5 to 6 fresh black cherries, pitted
1/2 small orange
10 fresh mint leaves, plus additional for garnish
2 teaspoons agave syrup
4 ounces rye whiskey
About 6 ounces sparkling wine or club soda
